Eskdale Mon July 16th
A beautiful sunny day up in that lovely part of England! After the trouncing at the hands of Broadbottom last week, this really was a great match which we lost by the narrowest of margins. Gnomads batted first and made 146 (Jessop 46, Coverley 48) Eskdale made a slow start due to some tight bowling by guests Liam Duffy and Vijay Taheem. They needed 9 off the last seven overs, but were really pinned down by excellent bowling from Coverley and Hall who took 4wkts between them in the last overs of the innings, but when we had them 9 down they just squeezed past our total with a ball to spare!! (BJ got the ninth wicket in the last over.) A great tea, lovely people, and as I've said, a good game of cricket.
